Entrepreneur Tip Of The Week:

In the fast-paced world of business, speed is crucial. You need to swiftly identify talent, bring them on board, and get them firing on all cylinders. But equally important is the ability to recognise when something's not working out. If you've given someone a fair chance and they're not cutting it, it's crucial to make the call sooner rather than later. Remember, every member of your team shapes your business's trajectory, so prioritise the long-term success of your venture over short-term shit.

This Week’s Problem

This week, I'm addressing one of your questions. I receive so many of these inquiries, and usually, I respond directly. However, with my new newsletter, I'm introducing a new format where I aim to solve your problems, without the bullshit! So, here's this week's featured question:

“I attend numerous networking events, but I never enjoy them or manage to establish any business connections with the people I meet. What could I be doing wrong?”

Got a Business Headache?

Matt’s *No Bollocks* Fix

When your networking like this, it's frustrating as hell! It's like banging your head against a brick wall—pointless and painful.

Ultimately, you're stuck in this loop because most people mistakenly prioritise the transaction over building genuine relationships. They believe networking is all about meeting someone and immediately trying to get a deal done or push for a sale of something. But that's a flawed approach…

Here's the deal: real networking isn't about quick deals; it's about nurturing long-term relationships that pay dividends for a lifetime. It's about investing time to understand others, offering support, and building trust.

So, what's the fix? Simple. Just be yourself. Stop focusing solely on snapping up deals. Instead, ask meaningful questions, share valuable insights, and genuinely show interest in others as you would with a friend. Focus on building authentic connections that truly matter, ones that lead to real opportunities and meaningful relationships. And don't forget what Wole Adesemoye and I discussed on a recent podcast: put the relationship first, not the transaction. Follow up diligently because without it, you're just another forgotten face in the crowd.
