Matt’s *No Bollocks* Fix
To scale successfully, you need to focus on three key components: building your personal brand, investing in yourself, and having robust lead generation and marketing plans in place. Let’s break it down:
Personal Brand:
Your personal brand is your business card in the digital age. It’s about what people say about you when you're not in the room. Take Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney as an example. Since acquiring Wrexham FC in February 2021, they've bankrolled the team’s return to the English Football League (EFL) after a 15-year absence, signing high-profile sponsorships and gaining global attention through Netflix’s ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ docuseries. Their personal brands have transformed Wrexham FC’s following in the UK, US, and around the world, growing it tenfold. This shows how a strong personal brand can significantly boost your business’s visibility and success. Make sure your online presence authentically reflects who you are and what you stand for. Share your journey, your successes, and yes, even your failures. Engage with your audience genuinely. When your personal brand resonates with people, they’re more likely to trust you and do business with you.
Invest in Yourself:
Your business can only grow as much as you do. This means continuously learning, whether it’s through courses, books, or mentors. Consider Warren Buffett, who famously spends five to six hours a day reading. He believes that knowledge builds up like compound interest, contributing significantly to his investment success. Don’t shy away from spending money on your education and personal development. The returns on these investments are immeasurable. When you grow, your business grows because you bring new skills, insights, and strategies to the table.
Proper Lead Generation and Marketing Plans:
Without a healthy and growing pipeline, you won’t be able to scale. Inbound and outbound marketing are a must for brand awareness and new business growth. Look at Prime, the sports hydration drink launched by Logan Paul and KSI. Their product’s rapid success isn't just due to their massive social media following but also their creative and engaging marketing strategies. Logan Paul, for example, created a viral marketing stunt where he pretended to be stranded in a desert and in need of hydration, which captivated audiences and promoted the drink effectively 👇🏻
Prime has become one of the fastest-growing sports drinks in the US, with millions in sales. Work closely with your clients and use them as raving fans to attract more business. Ask them why they value your product so much and share this feedback. It’s the perfect way to bring in new clients. Utilise multiple channels—social media, email marketing, SEO, and more—to ensure you’re reaching your target audience effectively.
Remember, scaling a business is not an overnight job; it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Stay committed, stay consistent, and keep pushing forward.
Don’t forget, if you want a black-and-white, no-bollocks solution, I’m here to help you avoid the mistakes I’ve made in my years of owning businesses. I have lived and learned, and now I want to share my knowledge with you. Book a call here.
